They're great.
I hadn't been here in quite a long time, so it was nice to see how big the restaurant has become, and they have a couple beers on tap, which was a nice surprise. We started off with a dozen charbroiled oysters, which in my opinion, were on par with Drago's! My crawfish and fixins were delicious and perfect. Everyone else enjoyed there meals as well. It's now on my list of places I recommend to friends from out-of-town.
Be warned. The prices listed on the google menu are incorrect. We ubered over there based on the menu . The manager Cathy came out and hassled over the price differences stating they are not responsible for what is represented on the internet. I agree but when she showed me one her company was responsible for she also showed be the note that says menu price may be different. Offered no solution such as we will do our best to update. She was like oh well . Deal with it. Also I've seen companies reply on this forum. so they should be aware of their prices. Thanks
I only get down south twice a year, and this was the only place open on New Years Eve that sounded like I could find a good poboy. We get in, our server brings out one drink, dissappears, and apparently walks out. After waiting a half hour, wondering where this got went, we finally get someone to help. We had no less than 4 people at this point making sure we were well taken care of, despite the place being packed and they having their own tables to handle. Would definitely go back and eat again!
Good prices. Great service. Good food. Downside is it always smells... unpleasant - especially near the kitchen.
Amazing food and great prices. The staff was very friendly and attentive. The grilled Alligator was AMAZING! Get it, you won't be disappointed! Oysters were delicious and super fresh also. Will definitely be coming here every time I visit NOLA.
Amazing seafood at a reasonable price! We tried a little bit of everything, and nothing disappointed! The alligator, both blackened and breaded, the oysters, the crawfish, the shrimp, it was all fresh and cooked to perfection. The atmosphere is casual, and the place was clean. The staff was friendly and the food came out quickly. Stop in on your way to/from the airport with the convenient location!
Food was delicious!! And my waitress was Phenomenal, I was sitting outdoors on Sunday 1.11.20 around 5°clock with my friend and she prepared my Redfish exactly how I like it!!! Her name I believe was Carm something like that 👍🏻Thumbs up to her Give her a raise!! I sorry if I couldn't remember her name, but it was something like that, she was kinda short average height and dark hair in a ponytail!!!!!
Seafood salad is to die for. So fresh and filled with big chunks of crab and shrimp. though they do have that annoying (at least to me) habit of leaving the end half of the tails on their shrimp so you cant really eat them with the salad as is. Really very good.
Best oysters ever. Was visiting the FQ area but decided to explore where locals eat. Ended up here and could not he happier. Will definitely stop by again.
Awesome food and service! I eat here 3 times a week and the food is consistently great.
Went here specifically for crawfish. Ordered just a pound to test the waters, and it was cold. Like, not even room temperature, but actually COLD. Super dirty and I'm going to assume the cook has never had good crawfish before, because that surely wasn't it. Everything else was pretty decent. Was just traveling through, but I feel bad for the locals. Most of the service was pretty good, however.
$10 dozen raw oysters! They were freaking huge, fresh, and delicious! Enough said! This place was boss. Had blackened gator as well as a fresh Seared Ahi Tuna Salad! Tried some of there eggplant dish as well! Not expensive at all and great food! Worth the wait, and nice quaint atmosphere! A must try!
Anytime I pick up family members from the airport Harbor Seafood is a required stop. We all love eating there. The service is always great, even when they are really busy. It's super nice since they expanded and added the outside patio. The food is always good. They have fried seafood down to a science. Their boiled seafood is fantastic. They make a great seafood stuffed mirliton (my favorite). The beer is icy cold and they have a nice variety. The Bloody Mary is very good. I would not hesitate to recommend Harbor Seafood.
Place was packed with customers, but it looked like they were slightly short staffed. Raw oysters we're good. Boiled crawfish was mediocre, not as good as I anticipated. The sausage was ok, but not great. It may have just been what I ordered, as the fried seafood platter looked very appetizing. I would give this place another chance.
I been coming to Harbor Seafood for years and the quality has never fallen off. One side is a restaurant and on the other side you can buy the freshest seafood. Since I’ve visited they’ve expanded the restaurant to accommodate more people and the expansion looks amazing. There’s a cafe style seating area tat is covered in cold weather and opens during warmer weather. The bar is always a great place to eat and watch a game with excellent drinks and bomb food. This is definitely a local favorite and I see someone i know almost every time I visit. The staff is awesome and they are so nice and professional, totally what you would expect from a place you frequent often.
Shrimp was way to salty. Cajun potatoes did not have any seasoning. I was hoping for some good food. Over priced for the lack of taste and the waitress was so quite like if didn’t want to work.
Great wait staff, great food. Visiting from New Mexico we had a great experience
Man this was some good seafood. Light and seasoned. Great portion sizes and pretty quick to come out when its ordered
Shrimp Po-Boy, boiled shrimp, corn, sausage are always very good. Service is always very good too. Highly recommended.
I was pretty disappointed in this place. The food was ok.. service could have been better.. it smelled like a sewer.. the bathrooms were small and by the seating area. I really wanted it to be good with all the good reviews it had but unfortunately that was not the case.
This place was disgusting the last time I visited. The waitress wasn't that friendly and the food took forever to get, over 45 minutes. The Caesar salad that came with my entree was full of rotten black lettuce. I got a giant glob of rotten lettuce, it was so appalling and disgusting. I believe the waitresses make the salads in the back because I saw my waitress go in the back and add salad dressing to a dish. Maybe they just add the dressing. If they do make the salads, I hope they wash their hands beforehand. I will not be back. I lost my appetite: the waitress grossed me out (she looked unkempt), the rotten salad, and the wait time for food.
Add this place to your Google maps favorites or places you want to go. Amazing seafood in a casual setting. Jennifer was super friendly and helpful, great service. I tried the swamp platter. Never had any of the foods that came on it, trying something new. I loved it. See the pics!
I usually get fried catfish or boiled shrimp and oysters. Today I had fried calamari, fried alligator, and frog legs. They were all amazing!
This place is awesome they have a huge variety of amazing southern creole food! I highly recommend this place. They have something for everyone. Gator, oysters, turtle, gumbo and so much more. Everything had an amazing authentic taste. The prices were very reasonable and the customer service was excellent!
Very disappointed tonight at Harbor seafood. haven’t been there in a while. it used to be so delicious and fresh done. My friend and I ordered soup 🍲 and it came out COLD I ordered the grilled chicken salad the chicken was so rubbery and cheap and COLD and was a very generic salad no cheese nothing but onion with cheap iceberg lettuce so cheaply done and made could’ve done better myself at home and pay 1099 I guess for this. my friend had fried crab claws which were not fresh they were cold and also the bread was frozen crab claws if not that’s exactly what it tasted like they were ice cold. so disappointed. will never go back. Not to mention a screaming kid through my whole ear the whole entire meal. left there more stressed out and sick before I got there thank you
This is my absolute favorite homegrown home town seafood restaurant, and I can't wait to go back
The bartenders are so nice and funny. One stood out. Mrs. Ashley. She was a hoot!! She gave amazing recommendations and we loved all the food. I can’t wait to go back. The blackened gator was worth fighting over! The oysters were so fresh and the stuffed meliton was insanely good!!! The thing we loved the most was the swamp platter. Turtle soup, fried crawfish, and 3-4 more items. Can’t wait to go back!!!
Had the charbroiled oysters. I belive they may call them oysters Rockefeller. Either way, they were great. Service was friendly and the gumbo we had was solid. I live in Utah and only get to come back home ever so often. This was a welcome stop on our trip.
Charlotte is amazing. My family and I are visiting for the first time from New York. She showed us THE best hospitality I’ve ever come across. The food was amazing and inexpensive. Thank you Charlotte for being so caring and sweet to us ! Can’t wait to see you again soon!!!
Awesome seafood at a great price.Huge portions and now has a nice patio and bar area.I always take people here who come from out of state to visit.Highly recommend.
The charbroiled oysters here are amazing. The crawfish is perfectly seasoned to be spicy, not crazy hot
Nice place!! Since the remodel it's alot bigger and bigger nicer looking the seafood is always good and the raw oysters are the best here
Old school seafood joint! Very good. A very nice find in old Kenner! Good chargrilled oysters, excellent shrimp poboy. Great service. A great place to meet or take your friends.
This is one of those can’t miss places if you’re out traveling and looking for a place where the locals eat! Everyone at Harbor Seafood & Oyster House couldn’t have been any nicer! They’ve got a great menu with lots of local seafood options and I was able to get the Shrimp and Hush Puppies for dinner and we sat outside on the patio and that was wonderful! If you’ve not been here, you’ll need to stop in and check it out!!!
Real Cajun seafood. Great service! Delicious!
Great food with a hole in the wall atmosphere. My favorite kind of place. Will definitely be back.
Some of the best seafood I had in New Orleans
The food is so good. The service is so fast and quick so there's more the to enjoy the food. It's amazing. I recommend the fried gator for an appetizer.
Really wanted to like this place. Basically overrated fried seafood.
The wait for our food was very long, but they were busy and the one bartender was doing her best. The main reason I gave two stars is because I was given the wrong order. Had to return and wait another 20 minutes for my correct order.
The crawfish were too spicey this time and I like spicey. Normally it is very well seasoned. The swamp platter was pretty good and the service was excellent. I hope they reopen after the fire last week.
We made a point to make the drive out here after a local Uber driver suggested it. We were looking specifically a relaxed casual place where we could eat crawfish, drink beer and sit outside. We found it. Great spot. Great price per value. We would go back and recommend
Food quality excellent! Service outstanding! Prices surprisingly reasonable.
The raw oysters were absolutely delicious + so were the stuffed shrimp. The waitress was prejudiced. We could both feel the tension. The cole slaw wasn't good + the waitress didn't accommodate us @ all...We sure won't have her wait on us next time!
